Emergency crews are fighting fires at multiple non-residential locations on Sept 28 after a wave of munitions hit the city center of Kyiv. Russian drones struck the National Academy of Sciences, where reports indicate that some people are trapped inside the burning building and others were forced to jump from windows to escape the blaze.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said additional drone strikes hit targets in the Shevchenkivskyi and Darnytskyi districts, also sparking fires. The Academy of Sciences building is located near the German Embassy, and responders are continuing to race to the scenes to conduct rescue operations.
