The paralysis of these three major arteries follows overnight Russian drone attacks, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Public transportation is currently being rerouted through the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi bridges as officials assess the impact of the strikes on infrastructure crossing the Dnipro River.

The closures represent an escalation of a campaign that began Thursday with the first strikes on major Kyiv bridges since the start of the conflict. Russian forces utilized Geran-5 drones equipped with cumulative warheads designed to penetrate bridge supports, causing damage to the roadway and the concrete protective shell of the subway tracks. Although no injuries were reported after a drone smashed windows in a passing metro carriage, the continued assault has disrupted transit for hundreds of thousands of residents.
