Russian troops retreated from a large salient north of Lyman during an operation known as Vivaldi, after Ukrainian forces spent 10 days clearing positions in and around the city. Ukrainian assault groups are now conducting a three-pronged attack on the village of Zarichne to eliminate the remaining Russian bridgehead west of the Zherebets River. Heavy fighting is ongoing in the industrial zone and western parts of Zarichne, though advances in the northern outskirts have stalled due to coordinated Russian artillery and drone strikes.

The operation re-established Svyatohirsk as a rear logistics hub 25 km from the nearest Russian-controlled territory, allowing Ukraine to funnel reinforcements toward Mykolaivka. Analyst AMK Mapping states these advances will delay Russian assaults on Slovyansk and Kramatorsk by several months. Control of the Lyman transport hub provides Ukraine the strategic leverage to launch future operations toward Siversk and other areas of the eastern front.
