Iran's naval forces used an electronic warfare operation to intercept a U.S. REMUS 600 unmanned submersible, according to state media. The Revolutionary Guard Navy says specialists are now extracting stored sonar data, navigation settings, and search patterns from the device, which the IRGC claims was conducting surveillance in the Strait of Hormuz.

This marks the second American unmanned underwater vehicle Iran has seized in September, following the capture of an Anduril Dive-LD on September 11. The IRGC has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to unauthorized traffic, though a U.S. official denied an interception occurred and instead stated the drone was an older model that had malfunctioned in Iranian waters.
