Power outages are affecting multiple regions of Ukraine after coordinated missile strikes damaged utility grids on September 30. Russia deployed 188 drones and ballistic missiles overnight, followed by another 285 drones and Zircon, Onyx, and Iskander-M missiles throughout the day to degrade energy security ahead of the 2026-2027 winter heating season. The raids targeted energy hubs in Kyiv and provincial regions such as Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, and Rivne to force a capitulation.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that five people were killed, including a child, and 14 others were injured. In the capital, which spent over 11 hours under air raid alerts, one of the dead was a driver for the utility Kyivteploenergo. Other hits included a grocery supermarket in Ivankovychi and a warehouse in Kyiv, while a Russian drone violated Moldovan airspace and crashed near Hirbovat.
