Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for striking three oil tankers as part of a wider campaign against commercial shipping. IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi stated that fighting breaks out in the strait every 24 hours, though he alleged the US has stopped responding to these actions.
