The Iranian Armed Forces claim to engage in daily clashes with US forces in the strait, although they state that Washington does not respond. The UKMTO has advised commercial vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity as authorities investigate the series of strikes. The attacks follow claims by Iranian state media that explosions on Qeshm Island were merely warning shots fired at ships violating navigation instructions.
