1 Ukraine Sets Europe's Largest Oil Storage Hub Ablaze ⚔️ War Oct 1, 4:34 AM EDT 17/12
Long-range drones from Ukraine attacked the Samara Linear Pumping Dispatch Station on October 2, hitting a critical point in Russia's crude export network. The strike triggered a large fire at the facility, which is the largest oil storage facility and reservoir park in Europe. The station serves as a hub for the Druzhba and Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk pipelines, blending and moving Kazakh and Siberian crude westward for export.
The mission is part of a series of deep strikes announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 1, including attacks on a military supply depot in the Bryansk region and a drone launch and storage site in the Oryol region. Ukrainian forces also hit a target in the Black Sea, identified as a Russian vessel, as part of a strategy to deprive Russia of the capacity and resources needed to sustain its military operations.
