Fighting between Yemen’s Houthis, backed by Iran, and government forces supported by Saudi Arabia killed 154 people in two days, military sources from both sides told AFP on Tuesday. Houthi sources reported 118 deaths in Saudi airstrikes, artillery fire and clashes across Taiz, Al-Jawf, Marib and Saada, while government sources reported 36 of their forces killed.

The UN warned that 230,000 Yemenis risk displacement if fighting continues. Thousands have fled to the city of Aden as the fighting intensifies.

Saudi airstrikes on Yemen’s port city of Mocha killed at least six civilians, including two children and a woman, and wounded eight others, Houthi-affiliated media reported.
