US Approves $2.68 Billion Ukraine Air Defense Deal Largest Under Trump Administration

Washington authorized the purchase of extended range missile systems and counter drone radars to bolster Kyiv's regional security missions. The proposed Foreign Military Sale includes mobile launchers, software, and S-300 clone missiles, with a total estimated cost of $2.68 billion. This approval allows Ukraine to acquire technical support and spare parts to counter current and future aerial threats.

Ukraine will finance the acquisition through previously appropriated US Foreign Military Financing and contributions from European partners. The package is the largest military sale to the country under the Trump administration and was cleared shortly after the US signed a sweeping Russia sanctions bill.
