Turkish authorities detained a suspect after a shooting in front of a high school in the western province of Manisa on Tuesday. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek reported at least 11 pupils were wounded when a student opened fire with a hunting rifle before fleeing the scene.

The assailant, a 15 year old student in Turgutlu, was arrested by police shortly after the attack. Authorities also detained the teenager's parents and grandfather, who owned the firearm used in the shooting, which occurred early in the morning before classes began.
