Meloni stated during a party youth event that allowing too many non-Italian speakers in one class leads to abandonment and marginalization rather than integration.

The center-right administration is moving to counter the growth of the ultranationalist National Future party with these new education laws. The policy requires newcomers to learn the national language and respect local rules to ensure that native students do not feel pushed into a corner by becoming a minority in their own schools.
