A Flydubai pilot is suspected of deliberately sending flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv into a dive from 30,000 to 15,000 feet in a suicide attempt before the second pilot fought him and regained control, Israel's Channel 14 reported. The account was described as a preliminary suspicion.

A passenger told i24NEWS that a pilot was stabbed and Israeli passengers intervened. Passengers remained aboard the aircraft in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, awaiting a replacement plane, with some wearing bloodstained shirts after helping stop the confrontation, Channel 12's Amit Segal reported. Flydubai will send another aircraft to take them to Israel, the airline's CEO told Israeli transport officials.

The aircraft landed safely on Sept. 30, and all passengers are safe and accounted for. Flydubai's official statement described an incident en route and said it was working with authorities. The flight transmitted general emergency and unlawful interference signals, prompting Israel to scramble fighter jets. Israel's Prime Minister's Office said the incident was under control and measures were being taken to return passengers safely to Israel.
