SpaceX has expanded its technical resources agreement with the AI developer Anthropic to include services through 2029. The total potential cost of these NVIDIA-based resources is $84.5 billion, which nearly doubles the $45 billion in potential spending SpaceX had disclosed previously. These updated terms extend an agreement reached in May that required monthly payments of $1.25 billion for a period of 3 years.

Most of the arrangements can be terminated with a 90 day notice, meaning the full payout is not guaranteed. The deal suggests a shift in priorities for Elon Musk's company, with some observers arguing that selling raw computing power is now more profitable than the firm's pursuit of artificial superintelligence.
