Users can now connect a personal account, a work profile, and side project logins to a single ChatGPT plugin. The update, released Sept. 18, enables multi-account connectivity for most of the platform's third-party integrations to allow the mixing of multiple data streams in one conversation.

Plugin developers can support the feature without modifying existing code, though OpenAI suggests adding a profile tool to their MCP servers to help the AI label accounts. This integration allows ChatGPT to better organize context when a user accesses multiple datasets from the same provider.
