The release accompanies the Oct. 1 launch of Pi 1.0, a customizable coding harness for AI agents. This version introduces 'codemode,' which enables agents to write scripts to orchestrate tool calls and filter data outside the model's context to reduce latency and token costs. Industry developers have noted that durable runtimes are becoming a necessary requirement for all agent harnesses.
