The top tier of OpenAI's paid offerings now grants users a capacity of 10 times the base level provided to basic subscribers, a reduction from the previous 20X multiplier. This restructuring establishes a new hierarchy where the Pro 100 plan provides 5 times the base usage and the Plus plan serves as the 1X baseline. Current $200 Pro subscribers will retain their legacy 20X multiplier for a limited time and receive additional credits to mitigate the change, which was announced shortly before the company's DevDay event.

The update accompanies the reopening of the $200 Pro subscription to new users after a period of paused enrollment. OpenAI has removed the 5 hour rate limit to allow users to spend their weekly allocation more flexibly. The company stated the decrease in proportional value follows the launch of GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous API prices, aiming to align subscription benefits with the reduced cost of on-demand model access.
