Judge Clears Final Barrier to $110B Paramount Acquisition of Warner Bros DiscoveryPSKYWBD

US District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín approved a settlement with 12 state attorneys general to resolve a lawsuit blocking the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. The ruling removes the final legal barrier to the acquisition and identifies the consent decree as a "fair, reasonable, and good faith approach" to mitigating competitive harms. Paramount has tentatively scheduled the closing of the deal for Oct 6, according to regulatory filings.

The combined company may unveil its new brand identity as soon as tomorrow, potentially in conjunction with an update on Paramount CEO Ynon Kriez. The transaction will unite the two media entities into a single corporate firm in a takeover valued at $110B.
