1 Middle East Crude Exports Rise 36% in a Week to 17.92 Million BPD 🛢️ Commodity Sep 25, 7:10 AM EDT 288/90
Middle East crude exports rose 36% from a week earlier to 17.92 million barrels a day, including 12.35 million passing through the Strait of Hormuz, TankerTrackers estimated on Sept. 30. Iranian exports remained at zero in its tally. President Donald Trump described the past three days as bringing “Historic flows of oil out of Hormuz.”
Producers have increased shipments using US military protection, routes along Oman's coast and alternatives to Hormuz. JPMorgan estimates that 40% of September crude exports avoided the strait through alternative pipelines, ports and transfers between ships. Saudi Arabia has also resumed sending crude through its damaged East-West pipeline to Red Sea ports, though volumes remain reduced.
The crude recovery has not been matched by fuel exports. JPMorgan puts September Middle East crude shipments at about 17.5 million barrels a day, or 98% of prewar levels, while refined products are at 3 million barrels a day, just 58%. TankerTrackers said refining remains a bottleneck and the largest tankers departing the region have priority but carry crude rather than fuel.
