▶A rupture in the feed line supplying the Tishreen Thermal Power Plant’s infrastructure triggered a shutdown of the Tishreen, Deir Ali and Nasiriyah facilities on Tuesday. This blast near the town of al-Otaiba severed the common gas feed for all three stations, cutting off the fuel required for their operation. The Syrian electricity company warned that the outage will decrease national generation and increase power cuts throughout the country.
Tishreen is the largest thermal station in southern Syria, where emergency crews are fighting a fire at the facility's compound. This event follows a failure on the Shoula-Deir ez-Zor line on Monday night that cut flow from the Jbeissa plant, marking the second gas pipeline disruption in 2 days, with the earlier incident attributed to sabotage.
