Gazprom Neft's Moscow refinery stopped processing crude after a Ukrainian drone attack on Sept. 20 sparked fires at both primary crude distillation units, Reuters reported, citing three industry sources. The plant supplies up to 40% of Moscow's fuel. Repairs and the restoration of operations could take several weeks, the sources said.

A separate Ukrainian drone attack overnight into Sept. 22 set Rosneft's Kuibyshev refinery in Samara ablaze, with the fire continuing into the morning. The plant processes about 7 million metric tons of oil a year and had previously suspended operations in June following strikes.

Ukrainian drones also struck the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery in Ufa on Sept. 21, sparking a large fire more than 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Ukraine said it had hit both the Ufa and Kuibyshev refineries.
