Saudi Arabia has told European refiners they will receive no crude in October, extending supply disruptions that had already prompted cancellations of some late-September cargoes after an attack shut its East-West pipeline. Poland’s Orlen, the biggest oil company in the European Union’s east, is seeking alternative crude supplies as the conflict disrupts deliveries from its key Saudi partner.

Oil loadings at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia’s main Red Sea export port, stopped on Sept. 15 following the pipeline attack. The line carries crude from Abqaiq on the eastern Gulf coast to Yanbu, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, and its closure put 4 million BPD of supply at risk.

Prices for some physical oil cargoes in Europe topped $130 a barrel on Sept. 15 amid the Saudi disruptions. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that day that the pipeline should resume operations within days, telling CNBC, “I think pipeline opening will be measured in days.”
