Energy producers sent liquefied natural gas vessels through the Strait of Hormuz this week to address supply shortages and surging prices in the global market. At least two carriers completed the transit, while other ships used ship-to-ship transfers off the coast of Oman to move product.
Current transit volumes remain far below the pre-war pace of three cargoes per day. Producers are utilizing both the strategic waterway and offshore transfers to increase the flow of natural gas to markets struggling with a lack of supply.
