US Navy Blocks Iranian Oil Exports and Moves 1 Billion Barrels Through Hormuz

Admiral Brad Cooper reported that U.S. forces cleared the main shipping lanes of mines to protect more than 2,000 merchant vessels. This effort allowed crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments to reach their highest level in six months over the past two weeks. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) facilitated the movement of more than 1 billion barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz in the last couple of months, and Iranian exports totaled zero barrels during the same period.

Iran's armed forces dismissed the CENTCOM figures as "false" and "ridiculous." Senior spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi called the announcement a "failed psychological operation" designed to boost the morale of exhausted U.S. forces in the region. Shekarchi stated that these claims do not change the reality of the American military's withdrawal from the area.
