BlackRock's IBIT drove the bulk of institutional capital into the cryptocurrency market on Tuesday, recording $51.09 million in additions for the fund. Total U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $66.19 million for Sept. 29, an update from earlier estimates, while spot Ether funds flipped to a $2.81 million net outflow. This shift in Ethereum funds ended a streak of seven consecutive days of inflows, although Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust managed to attract $12.83 million in new capital.
The surge in Bitcoin demand has seen spot ETFs take in approximately $1.3B over the last five days following two weeks of net outflows. This institutional momentum coincides with options traders positioning for Bitcoin to rise above $90,000, with strikes at $95,000 and $100,000 also seeing popularity. Bitcoin was trading around $83,238 at the time of the reporting, and spot funds have now maintained a positive flow streak for more than 8 trading days.
