The production company behind the latest Elon Musk documentary by Alex Gibney is now able to purchase advertising on YouTube and Meta. YouTube joined Meta in reversing a previous ban on paid trailer promotions for the film, allowing the studio to regain promotional reach across two of the largest US social media networks. Meta had previously characterized its initial refusal to host the advertisements as an error.

The networks originally blocked the ad campaigns on the basis that the documentary contained "political content." While YouTube and Meta have now restored the ads, TikTok has not yet announced a change to its decision to decline the film's promotional material.
