Trump Administration Prepares $2.8 Billion Bomb Sale to Israel Largest in Recent Years

40,000 munitions weighing 2,000 pounds each are part of a proposed arms deal funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars, according to U.S. officials. The package consists of 20,000 MK-84s, 20,000 BLU-117s, and 20,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads, totaling $2.8 billion. This planned transaction represents the largest single sale of these heavy bombs to Israel in recent years.

The order size exceeds previous shipments during the Biden and Trump administrations, including a $2.04 billion deal in 2025 that bypassed the standard congressional review process. The current proposal proceeds to Congress for final approval.
