President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran confirmed that his government will return to a bilateral strategic pact with Beijing. The president welcomed support from Chinese President Xi Jinping to revive the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and stated that Tehran agreed on the necessity of honoring its commitments under the agreement.

Pezeshkian also said both nations are aligned on the need to respect state sovereignty and reduce regional tensions. This diplomatic coordination reflects a joint goal by Iran and China to de-escalate conflict and maintain stability across the region.
