Josh Turek Leads Incumbent Hinson in 2026 Iowa Senate Poll

A recent survey of likely voters conducted between Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 suggests the contest for Iowa's U.S. Senate seat is an extremely close race. Democrat Josh Turek holds 47.4% support in the Insider Advantage poll, leading incumbent Republican Sen. Ashley Hinson, who has 45.7%, while Thomas Laehn trails with 1.6%. Turek sees a larger lead among independent voters, commanding 51.2% compared to Hinson's 38.6%.

Separate data from VoteHub describes the race as a dead heat, showing Turek leading Hinson by 0.9 points with a polling average of 46.1% to 45.2%. Despite this, VoteHub maintains a Tilt R rating for the seat with a final projected margin of R +1.3.
