NYT Removes Governor Polls Showing Hinojosa Leading Abbott

The New York Times deleted figures for gubernatorial races in Texas, Ohio, and Iowa from its online polling aggregator shortly after they were made public. The removed Texas data showed Democrat Gina Hinojosa leading incumbent Greg Abbott 49% to 46%, marking a 10 point swing in her favor since June when Abbott led 51% to 44%. While the governor data was retracted, the paper maintained its official Senate release showing Democrat James Talarico leading Republican Ken Paxton 51% to 45% in Texas.

Other Senate polls conducted among likely voters from Sept. 21 to Sept. 30 show Mary Peltola leading Dan Sullivan 50% to 43% in Alaska and Sherrod Brown ahead of Jon Husted 49% to 46% in Ohio. In Iowa, Republican Hinson leads Democrat Turek 48% to 47%, while the Kansas race is tied at 45% each. Despite the leaked Texas governor numbers, prediction markets on Kalshi still list Abbott as a favorite to win reelection.
