Vice President JD Vance announced verification checks for 419,000 individuals to determine if they meet the requirements for the Affordable Care Act. The White House Antifraud Task Force stopped enrollment for 750,000 people suspected of fraud, a move that will save $2.2 billion in taxpayer money by removing subsidies from ineligible recipients.

The initiative uncovered a fraud ring consisting of 40 brokerage agents who funneled 50,000 people into the system, some of whom Vance stated did not actually exist. The effort is being coordinated with Dr. Mehmet Oz, the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Vance stated the administration is applying an extraordinary burden of proof to identify fraudulent accounts.
