Donald Trump queried Grok, an AI developed by Elon Musk, during a secret Oval Office meeting in December 2025 to determine if citizens would celebrate the removal of Nicolas Maduro. The chatbot described Maduro as a repressive dictator, and the following month, Trump ordered a mission to seize the leader, which was followed by celebrations in the streets of Venezuela.

At the time of the consultation, Trump was also ordering missile strikes against boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. Officials stated that the president has become increasingly fascinated by artificial intelligence and the executives courting him, leaving the December meeting convinced that the Grok AI was ingenious.
