Democratic staff have halted the release of a major bipartisan energy infrastructure agreement after discovering errors in the bill's final text on Wednesday. The hold occurs hours before negotiators scheduled a midday news conference to unveil the legislation, which is currently stalled despite a recent agreement on the text according to a senior Democratic aide.

The a year long effort, known as the "freedom-to-build" package, aims to expedite permits for high voltage transmission lines for renewable energy while limiting state use of the Clean Water Act to block pipelines. The pause comes as Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats signal they will block a separate Ratepayer Protection Act focusing on data center costs, despite the measure passing the House 417-3.
