1 Israeli Army Fails to Kill Hamas's Gaza Chief Ali al-Amoudi ⚔️ War Oct 2, 7:04 PM EDT 28/12
A residential building in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City was struck in an air attack on Saturday that killed five civilians but missed its intended target. A security official told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that the army targeted Ali al-Amoudi, the de-facto head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and a frontrunner to lead its political bureau, but the assassination attempt was unsuccessful.
The strike on the Al-Asala building also left six people severely wounded and killed two pairs of mothers and daughters, including one family from the Christian community and a physician, as well as a 21-year-old man. Although a ceasefire has remained in effect since Oct 10, 2025, Israel now maintains control over 60% of Gaza and has constructed more than 12 new military outposts since the agreement.
