The Pakistani government targeted "camps and hideouts" used by armed groups in two separate locations, eliminating large caches of weapons and ammunition during the operation. Official reports from Islamabad state that these air attacks killed 22 militants in the Kunar and Helmand provinces of Afghanistan.

The Afghan Taliban dispute these figures, with spokesperson Maulvi Zabihullah Mujahid reporting that nine civilians died and 11 others were wounded. The raids took place on Sept. 30 and occur amidst rising cross-border tensions between the two nations regarding militant movement and regional security.
