More than 80 people were wounded when a suicide bomber targeted a security installation in northwestern Pakistan on Friday. At least 23 people, including 15 police officers, died in the raid on the Kohat facility, an operation claimed by the Pakistani Taliban. An explosives-laden vehicle rammed the compound gate before detonating, followed by gunfire and a second suicide blast.

The bombing occurred at a mosque inside the police headquarters while worshippers gathered for Friday prayers. Officials in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province initially reported 16 fatalities before revising the toll upward as rescue teams processed the scene of the double bombing.
