Air raids on Thursday morning targeted commercial facilities and corporate hubs in Ukraine's capital. Russian forces used Geran-4 drones to kill five people and wound at least 27 others, with four deaths occurring at a single office block, according to the Kyiv Post. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed strikes on an office building in Kyiv and a logistics warehouse used by McDonald's, while other reports indicate the office of internet provider Datagroup and the Inkom business center were also attacked.

The strike on the warehouse creates a prospect of supply disruptions for the fast food chain's restaurants in Ukraine. Some observers suggest the targeting of an American brand was a signal to the West, as McDonald's permanently exited the Russian market in May 2022. Separate drone attacks on the same day hit the Swedish paint factory Eskaro in Odesa, leading Zelensky to call for more concrete consequences through sanctions and long range capabilities.
