The strike on the scientific institution was part of a series of attacks on September 28 that targeted a Dobrobut medical center, a pharmaceutical company, and gas stations in Kyiv, as well as a business center in Dnipro. The National Academy of Sciences was hit by a Geran-5 drone. Zelensky stated Russia would face a response and called on international partners to increase pressure on the financing and production of Russian weapons to prevent further civilian casualties.
