Ukraine’s Oct. 2 drone strike on Russia’s Samara oil pumping complex damaged pipelines and a pump station and ignited eight tanks, with losses including oil estimated at about $200 million, Exilenova+ reported. Five RVS-20000 tanks and three RVS-50000 tanks caught fire, covering more than 15,000 square meters.

The Samara complex blends and distributes Kazakh and Siberian crude through the Druzhba and Kuibyshev–Tikhoretsk pipelines, feeding domestic refineries and export routes toward the Black and Baltic seas. Ukraine’s General Staff had confirmed fires at the complex and Lukoil’s roughly 300,000 BPD Volgograd refinery, saying the extent of damage was still being assessed.
