UN Mission Finds Reasonable Grounds for US War Crimes in 2 Iran Strikes

A UN fact-finding mission determined the United States likely targeted civilian infrastructure in February through military strikes on a school and sports facility. The report concludes there are reasonable grounds to believe these actions in Iran constituted war crimes, with one attack in Minab killing more than 150 people, including approximately 120 children. The investigation also found that Iranian authorities committed crimes against humanity while suppressing anti-government protests.

CENTCOM denied carrying out the strike in Lamerd. The findings by UN-backed human rights experts in Geneva relied on Iranian figures for the Minab death toll and were presented as a formal accusation. The second strike identified in the report targeted a sports facility in Lamerd, while the Minab strike hit a school.
