Moldovan police searched the Berezlogi and Dereneu regions for debris after residents reported a drone-like object and a subsequent explosion on Sept. 20. A Berezlogi resident in Orhei district first spotted the flying object around 01:50, followed 10 minutes later by a flash and blast reported by a resident in Călărași district. No fragments, impact marks, or signs of a ground explosion have been discovered so far.

The investigation marks the third reported airspace violation in Moldova within a three day window. Radar systems failed to detect the objects in all three incidents, a gap attributed to drones flying at very low altitudes. Authorities have not yet officially identified or attributed the object involved in the most recent sighting.
