Russia carried out at least five Geran-4 jet drone strikes on Kyiv on the morning of Sept. 23, hitting gas stations and targeting warehouse and transport infrastructure. A strike on a gas station in the southern Holosiivskyi district sparked a large fire as attacks continued after an overnight barrage.

Geran-4 and Geran-5 drones attacked Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight. One Geran-5 circled in and around the capital for about an hour before being shot down northeast of Ukrainka. Preliminary information from AMK Mapping indicated that a later morning strike targeted the area around Darnytsia railway station in southeastern Kyiv.

In Izyum, in the Kharkiv region, Russia used at least 15 KAB glide bombs and three rockets equipped with cluster warheads, triggering large fires and reported power outages. A Geran-2 drone strike on a shopping center in Zaporizhzhia also started a large fire, while Su-34 aircraft dropped at least 10 glide bombs on the outskirts, where at least four rockets struck. Sumy came under rocket attack, with at least four strikes reported.
