At least nine separate aerial raids hit the Ukrainian capital throughout Wednesday morning, focusing on high-traffic civilian areas. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the attacks killed two people and injured 25 others, with 17 victims requiring hospitalization. The raids, carried out using Geran-4 and Geran-5 jet-powered drones, targeted the area surrounding the central railway station, including a university building, a data center, and two Ukrnafta petrol stations. A fire at a shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia also engulfed 6,000 square meters during the wider series of strikes.

The assault in Kyiv is part of a broader operation across eight regions including Odesa, where drones struck a toy warehouse. This follows a combined strike on September 21 and 22 involving approximately 28 missiles, including Zircon hypersonic and Kalibr cruise systems, which hit industrial plants in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih. Naftogaz reported that the damage to an oil and gas facility in the Poltava region from those prior attacks is critical and restoration is impossible.
