Russian missile and drone strikes hit 11 Ukrainian regions overnight on Sept. 29-30 in the largest combined attack on the country’s energy infrastructure since the end of the last heating season, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said. Emergency repairs were underway after the barrage.

Some consumers in Kyiv and the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions remained without electricity on Wednesday morning because of hostilities and Russian attacks. Koretskyi instructed local authorities to ensure backup power systems at critical facilities were ready and to complete installation and connection work as soon as possible.

DTEK reported damage to Kyiv’s energy infrastructure, while Russia’s Defence Ministry confirmed strikes on energy facilities in the surrounding region. The barrage hit power plants including CHP-5, Trypillya and the Kyiv hydroelectric plant, where fires broke out.
