A senior architect of the nation's military-industrial complex was caught in a Monday aerial assault in the capital's center, according to reports from local Telegram channels. Vladimir Gorbulin, a key strategist behind Ukraine's defense infrastructure and missile program, was among those injured when a Russian drone struck the National Academy of Sciences. The direct impact ignited a massive fire that destroyed roughly half of the building, forcing several employees to jump from windows to escape the flames.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that 1 person was killed and 6 were injured, including 3 children, in the Geran-5 drone strike. The assault included a separate hit on the Dobrobut private medical center, as well as attacks on gas stations and a pharmaceutical company in Kyiv and a business center in Dnipro. Zelensky termed the strikes acts of terror and urged international partners to tighten pressure on the financing and production of Russian weaponry to prevent further civilian losses.
