Security personnel modified the layout of aircraft on the tarmac at a British airbase on Sept 26 to mitigate a security risk. The U.S. Air Force dispersed B-1 bombers across RAF Fairford following the receipt of specific and credible threat intelligence, while simultaneously raising the base's security status to Force Protection Condition Delta, the highest possible alert level.

Other U.S.-supported facilities in Britain also tightened security, with RAF Lakenheath and possibly RAF Mildenhall moving to FPCON Charlie, the most stringent posture seen at these sites in 8 months. These measures include road closures implemented by local police and the denial of airspace transit to an East Anglian Air Ambulance flight. A USAF spokesperson stated the 501st Combat Support Wing remains vigilant but declined to discuss specific security measures for operational reasons.
