Senator Chris Coons reported that the Trump administration successfully committed nearly all of the military funding approved by Congress for the defense of Kyiv. The Pentagon obligated 99.8% of the $400 million in Ukraine aid by Sept 29, ensuring the funds did not lapse when they expired on Sept 30 at the end of the fiscal year.

The package consists of offensive weapons and armored vehicle parts but excludes Patriot missiles and interceptors. While some equipment may not arrive until 2029, the first deliveries of the current batch began this month, including a shipment from Peterson Space Force Base that landed in Rzeszow via a NATO heavy cargo plane.
