Zelenskyy adviser Serhii “Flash” says one to three radio relay devices may be operating inside Kyiv, giving Russian operators a temporary link to steer Shahed drones during their final approach to targets. He said the devices could make electronic warfare defenses in the capital less effective.

Flash, a presidential adviser on defense technologies, said Russian operatives activating radio repeaters likely enabled recent drone strikes, including attacks on bridges. He cited strikes that occurred when no other drones were airborne to provide a relay network and said the suspected devices were difficult to detect.

A Russian jet-powered drone hit Kyiv’s Northern Bridge on Saturday, damaging the roadway and severing trolleybus power lines. Traffic from the left bank to the right bank was halted while crews assessed the bridge, following four strikes on the Southern Bridge on Thursday and Friday that left it closed to road traffic and metro services. Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed targeting the Northern Bridge, claiming it was used to transport troops and supplies to the front.
