Bolivian Police Arrest Attorney General and Seize All Prosecution Offices
▶

Intelligence agents and police in Bolivia detained the nation's chief prosecutor and took over every district prosecution office on October 1. The arrests were carried out without legal warrants and coincided with the dissemination of photographs showing a man named Cerimedo with the son of Donald Trump. Members of the Attorney General's office stated that all prosecutors were held without foundation and reported that evidence linking political officials to narcotics trafficking has disappeared from their offices.

A government minister stated the Attorney General was arrested on charges of money laundering and drug trafficking. The US government had previously revoked the official's visa citing significant corruption. These events, occurring after the earlier arrest of Cerimedo, take place while Bolivia is under a state of exception.
