Oman had banned the co-pilot accused of attacking the captain and trying to crash Flydubai Flight 1073 from flying over radical views, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources. The nature of his radicalization could not be determined, the newspaper reported.

The Omani suspect was transferred to the UAE after the Sept. 30 flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Passengers and crew subdued him after he allegedly stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar, while a reserve pilot crew landed the aircraft safely. Israeli investigators will question the suspect in the UAE, which is leading the investigation, Reuters reported.

Flydubai has suspended operations to Tel Aviv until further notice at the authorities' request. Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said the airline was helping disrupted passengers reach their destinations and supporting the official investigation. Machchhar has returned to the UAE after receiving medical clearance.
